English name:Autograph Tree
Latin name:Clusia rosea 'Princess'
About me:My sturdy, dark leaves are noted for their air filtering properties. I won't cause any fuss as I'm easy to care for!
Useful to know:
I am native to the Caribbean, mainly the Bahamas, Cuba and Puerto Rico.
I can reach heights of 6m in the wild but will grow to about 1m indoors.
I love bright light best and can live outdoors in the summer. I can also deal with medium light if needed.
I like my soil to be moist, but I'm a tough cookie and can deal with periods of drought.
Temperatures of 16-30°C are perfect.
Fertilise me monthly between March and August.
Wipe my leaves with a damp cloth to remove dust and trim me if needed in spring to a desired shape.
I am toxic if eaten so keep me away from nibbly pets.
My common name Autograph Tree comes from the fact that my waxy leaves are so tough, it is said you can carve your name into them!
