Emerald Palm

English name:

Emerald Palm

Latin name:

Zamioculcas zamiifolia

About me:

I have Emerald green leaves with a glossy sheen. Strong and structural, I'm a great addition to any houseplant collection.

Useful to know:

Origin

I am native to Zanzibar in Africa, which is why they also call me ZZ.

Height/Growth

I can grow to about a meter tall and am slowish growing.

Light

I am happy in anything from low to bright light, however I don't like to be in direct sunlight.

Water

Give me a drink when my soil is drying out, not too much.

Temperature

I prefer the warmth (15-24°C) but I can cope with as low as 8°C for short periods.

Feeding

Feed me some slow release fertiliser once a month during the growing season.

Grooming

Prune any dead leaves and re-pot me when I'm bursting out of my container.

Care

Wipe my leaves to remove dust.

Toxicity

Keep me away from children and pets.

Fact

I'm a good air purifier, so I'll help filter airborne toxins.
