English name:Never Never 'Golden Mosaic'
Latin name:Ctenanthe lubbersiana 'Golden Mosaic'
About me:My main feature are my distinct green and lime mottled leaves, which grow on delicate bamboo-like stems. I also go by the common name Bamburanta.
Useful to know:
I come from tropical regions of Brazil.
I can grow to a height of about 60cm.
I like bright indirect light - if I'm in too shady a spot, my leaves will be less variegated.
Keep my soil evenly moist but never soggy. I don't like to dry out, and don't like cold or hard water.
I'm more than happy living in normal room temperatures of between 16-24 degrees C.
Fertilise me once a month in spring and summer and every 2 months during autumn and winter.
I'm easy, just cut off any dead leaves.
I like humidity so please mist me and place me near other plants or on a pebble tray with water.
Although I'm often listed as non-toxic, I can cause individual allergic reactions.
I am often confused with my cousin the Calathea. We both belong to the Marantaceae family but I have more elongated oblong leaves.
