Calathea roseopicta 'Dottie'
The Dottie is a tropical long-life plant from South America. With rich deep purple leaves and pink detailing, this plant has an unusual sultriness which is very calming. Their leaves grow in tight scrolls and unfurl as they grow. They begin green and deepen as the plant matures.
Also called 'Prayer Plants,' Calatheas softly close their leaves at night and open them during the day, responding to circadian rhythms.
Originating from the rain forests of Central and South America, the Calathea Dottie likes indirect light, warmth and humidity (which can be replicated through misting). It can also transpire and act as a natural humidifier in your home. Plus, the big leaves, covered in tiny pores will trap VOCs in the home.
