Aechmea is derived from the Greek, It means 'lance tip'. Don’t let the aptly named leaves keep you away! The Dazzling red and yellow flame-shaped flower is what gives this plant its otherworldly appearance. This plant is easy to care for and a beautiful one at that! They were introduced to Europe around 1826 as a new and exotic house plant, from there they have been cultivated to create beautiful and unique colour patterns!
