At the dawn of the houseplant resurgence, everyone was talking about the Fiddle Leaf Fig. The Ficus Lyrata is from the same plant genus as the trees which produce the delicious fruit. You're unlikely to get this lush indoor plant to produce figs, but it will give you proud upright green leaves, in a unique, ridged paddle-shape (sometimes likened to a fiddle). Each leaf has prominent veins, which are visible on both the upper and under side. We associate Fiddle Leaf Fig Leave's with minimalist elegance and homes that have been carefully attended to. Perhaps that's why we feel so calm and relaxed in a room with a large fig like this one. The Ficus lyrata commonly known as the Fiddle Leaf Fig, comes from Western Africa. They like bright, filtered light and moderate moisture. We advise waiting until the top inch of soil has dried out before watering.
