Lime Tree Plant Care Tips
How to care for information
- Citrus trees require lots of drainage, they become very upset if excess water is allowed to pool near their roots.
- While Citrus Tree needs lots of direct and bright light, this light should not exceed 8hrs a day. Having an excess of 8+Hrs of light per day will cause the tree to enter a vegetative state and it will fail to flower or fruit.
- When flowers occur, gently use a q tip or small brush and rub the centres of each flower. This will help pollinate your tree and encourage fruiting to occur.
- Nitrogen is key to a happy citrus tree! Select a Nitrogen heavy fertiliser that is formulated for citrus trees. Stay away from fertilizer sticks, instead add worm casting to the soil for an extra boost!
- Keep your tree away from drafts or heat vents, the temperature should not fluctuate wildly.
- Humidity is key to a happy citrus plant! In the mornings or use a humidifier or diffuser near the tree to boost the surrounding humidity.
