Olive Tree

Olea Europaea 21 cm

Tax included.

The olive tree is an attractive, slow-growing evergreen. It forms a rounded head of small, silvery-grey leaves. Tiny white flowers appear in the summer, followed by small, round green olives that ripen to black.

It may be harder to produce fully ripened olives in the UK as these plants require a lot of heat and shelter. We recommend growing your olive tree in a large pot and moving it into a greenhouse or conservatory over the winter months.

Growing pot size: 21 cm (please purchase a pot big enough for 22 cm+ as this plant has a wide lip on the growing pot).

Overall plant height including growing pot: 90-95cm

Pets: Pet friendly!

Plant Care Tips: Olive Tree

Think about Mediterranean conditions when caring for your Olive tree: hot and dry!

Although these trees are very drought tolerant, it’s best to not leave the soil to become too dry. Give it a nice deep watering once the top inch has dried up and let the excess drain out, waterlogging can cause wet feet.

Feed it with a balanced liquid fertiliser during the growing season.

Olive trees are slow growers so you don’t need to do a load of pruning. If you want a nice bushy tree, you can pick some of the new leaves to give room for new shoots.

The Olive Tree Story

In their natural sunny and warm habitat, Olive trees should normally produce fruit when they reach around 3-5 years old.
