This large Philodendron has been dubbed the Green Wonder - a name which needs little explanation.
I am a tough, fast-growing Philodendron that creates a jungle feel at the drop of a hat.
It's a relatively new cultivar and is very difficult to come by outside of mainland Europe (though it's closest relations in the wild are from Central and South America).
It has spectacularly-shaped leaves, which fan out around each overhanging stem. The stems themselves spread out from one another thanks to this plant's broad growth habit.
Growing pot size: 17cm diameter
Useful to know:
I am native to the rainforests of South America.
Like most of my Philodendron cousins, I'm a fast grower so find me a space with a decent amount of height and breadth to grow into.
I like part shade to shaded locations - I'm the perfect dark corner plant!
Little and often is perfect when it comes to watering to keep my soil moist between spring and autumn. You can water me less during winter.
I'm more than happy living in normal room temperatures of between 16-24 degrees C.
A general plant food once a month during spring and summer will do me fine.
I don't need much in the way of grooming, just keep my leaves free of dust.
If several of my leaves yellow at the same time, I'm getting too much light; if my stems get too 'leggy', I'm not getting enough light.
I am toxic so please don't eat me.
I emit pheromones which attract male beetles of the subfamily Dynastinae and Rutelinae which are responsible for my pollination.
