Add a touch of much-needed tropical warmth to your home with one of our Pygmy Pineapples.
The fruit are smaller, bitterer cousins of the pineapples we’re used to seeing in the supermarket. You can eat them, but we wouldn't necessarily recommend it!
As a bromeliad, the Ananas comosus produces a single ornamental fruit at the centre of a crown of delicately coloured foliage. When the pineapple drops off, it's unlikely to produce a new one, but you should get pups in the soil which you can re-pot and grow into whole new plants.
Pygmy Pineapples grow wild in South America, with Puerto Rico being a prime exporter. Over the last year or so, desire for these statement plants has swept across Europe and Australia, but availability goes up and down, so don't hesitate when you see one!
Growing pot size: 12cm diameter; 11cm height.
Pets and children: Safe for all :)
Excludes decorative pot.
