Dumb Cane 'Compacta' Care Guide
Light
Bright indirect light is ideal but it can tolerate light shade. Lower light levels reduce the rate of growth and can dull its leaves. Direct sunlight can scorch them
Water
Wait until the top of the soil is dry before watering it sparingly. Be careful to not drench it and keep away from droughts
Temperature
Ideal temperature between 18-24 °C but it can cope with as low as 10 °C for short periods of time.
Feeding
You can feed it with a weak fertiliser during the growing season
Grooming
Wipe leaves with a damp cloth to remove accumulated dust
Care
If it is growing too tall, or looking a bit unkempt, trim stems with sharp shears

Origin
From tropical rainforests of South and Central America, especially Brazil, Ecuador and Costa Rica
Size
Compactas don’t grow as tall as other Dieffenbachia varieties, they can reach up to 40 cm tall
