Guzmania belong to the same family as the Pineapple! These flowers are adapted to growing on trees and on rock faces. Water the center of the leaf rosette where the flower spike comes out of. This water will slowly drip down to nourish the plant. Being semi-epiphytic they prefer loose barky well draining soil, and their roots can not handle being watered directly.
