Philodendron Atom

Regular price £27.09 £0.00

The Philodendron Atom has a compact growth habit, with densely formed clumps of leaves, which are gently ruffled along the edges and have a waxy texture.

They've been cultivated with ease of care in mind and can cope with slightly shadier positions in the home.

The exact tone of green that its leaves have rarely is seen in plants native to the UK. This tone is associated with higher feelings of alertness and vitality, making it a great plant to have in your office or workspace.

Growing pot size: 12cm diameter.

Overall plant height including growing pot: 20 - 35 cm

Key Benefits — Air Purifying and Vitality

Researches completed by NASA in 1989 found that Philodendrons are houseplants that remove impurities like formaldehyde from the atmosphere improving the air you breathe.

Dark Green colours like the Philodendron Atom’s give us a feeling of connection to nature and the greater ecosystem

Plant Care Tips: Philodendron Atom

In the wild, this tropical plant would normally be under tree canopies that would prevent direct sunlight from hitting its leaves and soil. At home, try to replicate this by placing it in a warm, bright area away from direct sunlight, draughts and radiators.

Let the top inch of the soil dry off in between waterings and mist it often to increase humidity. Steamy kitchens and bathrooms are the perfect rooms!

Feed it with an all-purpose fertiliser once a month during the warmer months and only twice during the colder months.

The Philodendron Atom  Story

Where is it from?

The Philodendron Atom is a new cultivar from the South American epiphytic genus

Who is the Philodendron Atom?

  • The name Philodendron comes from the Greek word phileo, meaning “to love” and dendron meaning “tree”.
  • If you notice drying and yellowing leaves, it may be the plant’s way of telling you that its environment is too dry.

Good For You!

  • Relax: Because this plant is a great air purifier, as part of a collection, it will also help you relax and have a better night’s sleep!
  • Productivity: Studies have shown that being in nature keeps us more alert. Replicate the outdoors bringing plants indoors to aid better memory and concentration!

Is The Philodendron Atom The Right Plant For Me?

Place this Philodendron with your plant collection and switch your holiday mode on!

This plant is an unusual but great option for those starting their indoor gardening journey as it’s low maintenance and forgiving.

It is also a compact plant, bringing you joy without taking too much space!

Pets: The sap can be an irritant to the skin and ingestion can cause stomach upset. Keep away from nibbly pets and curious children. If your skin is on the sensitive side, wear gardening gloves when handling it.

How tall does it grow?  They are little shrub plants and indoors, it's unlikely to grow taller than 60 cm in height
