The Phoenix Roebelenii, also known as the Pygmy Date Palm, is a lovely little palm tree. We call it a tree but it’s almost more of a bush. Classic-looking palm leaves protrude out of a lovely little palm heart-looking trunk. These plants work really nicely in plant pots as well as simply being planted in the soil. The pots will allow for more maneuverability, so we recommend this approach.

Light
Prefers bright, indirect sun, with a touch of morning or evening sunlight.
Water
Water it when the top of its soil is dry, avoiding sitting in wet soil.
Temperature
The ideal temperatures for its growth are between 18°C to 35°C. It can handle occasional dips in temperature down to around -2°C for short periods, especially if not accompanied by frost. However, prolonged exposure to freezing temperatures can damage the palm.
Grooming
Only groom it if it begins to lose its shape.
