Trachycarpus Wagnerianus

The Trachycarpus wagnerianus is a beautiful palm tree that has all of the classic palm characteristics. This palm plant is exceptionally hardy and is evergreen, this makes it ideal for European gardens that don’t mimic some natural palm environments. A single, hairy trunk sprouts up a collection of fan-like, sprawled green leaves that are pointy and full of character.

  • Tropical-looking palm tree
  • Short hairy trunk with a collection of palm leaves on top
  • Works great in the garden
  • Easy to care for

Make your garden a tropical haven with this Trachycarpus Wagnerianus.

Wagner's Windmill Palm Care Guide

Light

Prefers bright, indirect sunlight but can tolerate partial shade.

Water

Water moderately, allowing the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot.

Temperature

Can tolerate temperatures down to -15 °C. It prefers temperatures between 15-25°C but can handle both colder and warmer conditions

Feeding

Fertilise with a balanced, slow-release fertiliser during the growing season (spring and summer). Feed once a month to support healthy growth.

Grooming

Remove dead or yellowing fronds regularly to maintain the plant's appearance and health. Prune only the fronds that are completely brown. Be cautious of the sharp edges on the leaf stems when handling the plant.

Care

Plant in well-draining soil. Wagner's Windmill Palm can adapt to various soil types, including sandy, loamy, and clay soils. Repot every 2-3 years if grown in containers.
