An architectural succulent in lovely colours combined with our favourite Quartz pot!

The Euphorbia trigona 'Rubra' or African Milk Tree, is a succulent variety grown in Central and Southern Africa. Our favourite not-actually-a-cactus cactus. Its thick deep green stems are lined with small spikes and overhanging leaves, in a deep maroon colour.

My stems have three wing-like angles and carry short, sharp spines as well as leaves. Given the right conditions, I can grow into an impressive tree.

We've paired it with the dappled pink glazed Quartz Pot Large. The green, pink and red colour contrasts make it a beautiful feature to have all year round.

As a succulent, this plant will need very little watering, especially during winter, and likes a bright spot.

Combo includes: Euphorbia trigona 'Rubra' Succulent and Quartz Pot Large

Euphorbia sap contains highly toxic latex, so make sure to wash your hands immediately, if you come into contact with it.

Set: African Milk Tree & Quartz Pot Care Guide

Light

I like a lot of light, and will happily sit in direct sun, unlike a lot of other varieties.

Water

I can't take too much moisture, so wait until my soil is completely dry before watering me.

Temperature

I don't like the cold and should be kept above 13°C.

Feeding

Give me some feed once or twice during the warmer months. An all-purpose, or succulent-specific fertilizer will do the trick.

Grooming

I don't need any pruning, but would like the occasional dust to maintain the beauty of my ruby leaves.
