Strawberry GeraniumLatin name:
Saxifraga stoloniferaAbout me:
I'm a quick grower, perfect for indoors or out. Contrary to my name, I am not part of the strawberry family.
Useful to know:
Origin
I am native to China, Japan and Korea
Height/Growth
I only reach 10-15cm in height but form tight rosettes of leaves.
Light
I like bright indirect light - an easterly window is perfect.
Water
I like my soil to be moist but cut down on watering during winter when I am dormant.
Temperature
I'll be happy in room temperatures between 15-24°C.
Feeding
Fertilise me monthly with normal plant food during spring and summer but not during winter.
Grooming
Remove dry leaves and feel free to cut any trails that are yellowing or drying.
Care
I am prone to mealybugs so keep an eye for them. If you do find them, spray me with insecticidal soap at 1/2 strength.
Toxicity
Good news: I am pet-safe!
Fact
I am often called a Strawberry Begonia or Geranium but I am actually neither.
