With cute, penny-sized green leaves and beautiful vining red stems, these Peperomia varieties are sure to capture your heart. Peperomia pepperspot is also known as “String of Coins”, and with its pretty appearance plus folk tales claiming that this plant can bring prosperity, it’s probably worth a bet!

3. Peperomia Rosso - Lady in Red!
Red is the colour of passion and love! You’ll be head over heels for this beauty; Peperomia Rosso is quite the showstopper.
Small - yet perfectly formed, this compact, glossy peperomia variety has green leaves with exquisite burgundy undersides. It’s a relative to Peperomia Shumi Red and has also been known as ‘Emerald Ripple Pepper’, ‘Green Ripple Pepper’ and Little Fantasy Pepper.

One of the popular Peperomia varieties, the ‘marble’ Peperomia is a creeping shrub native to Mexico, Florida, and the Caribbean; it requires very little water and enjoys some humidity, so makes a great houseplant for bathrooms and kitchens.
The glossy, spoon-shaped leaves have a variegated marble pattern in green yellow and cream colours, giving a fresh spring feel to any room. Take care not to let any direct light get to these, as the leaves will scorch. It can also be propagated from cuttings in spring and summer if you’re looking for a plant that can multiply!

5. Peperomia ‘Hope’ - A rare beauty

Peperomia deppeana×quadrifolia, or Peperomia ‘Hope’, is a beautiful rare Amazonian Peperomia. With delicate, trailing pebble-smooth leaves, in a vibrant green tone, there’s no wonder these Peperomia varieties have also been considered a good luck symbol.
They were nicknamed the dollar plant for their coin-shaped leaves and these fortunate connotations. Looking for a gift with a prosperous mysticism? Peperomia caperata 'Schumi Red', has deep, passionate purple leaves that are so dark and rich in colour they can almost appear black. This dramatic-looking plant could be one for the artistic, romantic and gothic types, with these moody midnight colours adding some exotic charm to a space. It’s a compact plant that fits well on a desk or table, or in an arrangement with other plants.
This type of Peperomia is another semi-succulent with fleshy leaves to store water. Despite this, don’t let the soil dry out between waterings like one would with many other types of peperomias.
These Peperomia varieties enjoy slightly warmer areas between 15 to 26ºC and can produce blooms that shoot out like spikes. They are part of the peppercorn family, Piperaceae.
